Will You Get Reviews and Referrals?

Question

Will You Get Reviews and Referrals?(Flip Over to Reveal Answer)

Answer

Yes! This is a service customers want to refer to their friends and neighbors

Fact:

A referral can come from someone telling a friend or neighbor about their experience with you or thru an online review.

In any business, it’s important to understand the value of a customer’s referral. Think about when you need a service done. What’s the first thing you do? You ask friends and neighbors who they use and get online to find that service to look at their reviews. If their reviews are negative you move onto the next service provider.

Grill cleaning is no different!

Your grill cleaning business is no different than any other home service business. As long as you provide a high quality service, treat your customer with respect and do what you say you will at the price you agreed upon, you’re customer is likely to refer you to their friends and neighbors.

But, I would argue that your grill cleaning business IS different and you MUST be different than all other home service businesses.

Why?

Because your grill cleaning business is so unique to all other home service businesses that friends and neighbors might not have known this service existed or even understand what a cleaning truly is. Since they’ve probably never had this service done, they develop an image in their head what they think a cleaning will look like and how you will clean it based on their past experiences.

It’s super important for you to go above and beyond to provide a service and cleaning that your customers feel compelled to say something glowing and positive about your service. You want their friends and neighbors to see that review and wonder what they’re missing out on.

Referrals Happen When a Prospective Customer See's Reviews Like:

  • “My grill looks brand new!”
  • “They did a wonderful job! I will definitely use them on a consistent basis”
  • “I didn’t know this service existed, I’m so glad I found them! I didn’t realize how dirty my grill was till I saw how clean it was afterwards”
  • “They came on time and within a few hours my grill was sparkling clean. I thought it would be a dirty job but they left no mess behind. I can’t even tell they were here!”

Referrals Won't Happen When a Prospective Customer See's Reviews Like:

  • “My grill looks ok, not as clean as I thought it would”
  • “They were friendly but the cleaning was a little expensive for that they provided”
  • “I didn’t know this service existed so thought I would give them a try. They weren’t able to get it as clean as I hoped”
  • “They were an hour late and never let me know! Once they finally arrived they were in and out so quick and left a huge mess. Black grease is all over the yard and footprints all over my deck.”

Would you hire your company if you saw reviews like this?

Reviews, Referrals and Building a Customer's Trust to Use Your Service Comes in Other Forms Too:

  • The look and the words used on your website need to present a professional appearance and sense of trust and confidence that you will do the job correctly.
  • How you answer the phone and how you respond to questions help build that trust.
  • Follow up calls and reminders prior to the appointment
  • Showing up on time to the appointment
  • Your professional attire and appearance
  • The quality of the cleaning
  • The follow up afterwards

It’s common sense business 101 really. If you do everything right your customer will feel they trust you enough to refer your service to others.

I have to admit, getting referrals is exciting to me. When you hear a prospective customer say they were referred by one of your prior customers you know you did something right!

Think about it. You did everything right to instill trust in the referrer that you will treat their friends or family member with the utmost care, respect and professionalism you gave them!

That’s the best referral of all!
